What it means to be Anglican: An Inquirer's Class

Gable Hall

January 13 - March 9, 2008

The Adult Journey

Kathy Evenson, Vince Vitti, Stacey Smith and Sid Oakley

The Adult Journey will provide an exceptional way to learn and practice adult Christian life.  This curriculum was initially designed to help parents understand and experience the Journey to Adulthood (Youth Program) concepts.  It was more recently updated to respond to all adults who wish to be more intentional about their own faith journey as it relates to living in Christian community.  The class is highly participative

Spiritual Journaling

Elizabeth Beck and Suzanne Ford

Spiritual Journaling will use a prayer book curriculum as a place to begin.  From there each participant will create artistic journals to document her/his spiritual journey.  All levels of artistic talent are welcome. (There will be a $10.00 one-time supply fee).

Current Events

Tom Reilly and John Harrison

This class is back by popular demand!  This class encourages participants to respond to current situations by utilizing the Anglican foundation of Scripture, Tradition, and Reason.  Facilitators are John Harrison and Tom Reilly.  (Class meets in Claiborne 227)

The Clergy Forum

 Clergy and Guests

The Clergy Forum will give participants an opportunity to hear parish preachers as teachers.  Topics will include the Inklings (1930s Oxford literary group made up of Tolkien, Williams, and Lewis), History of the Bible, Liturgy, the Book of Matthew, Creation, and more…

Looking at the Lessons

Fr. Fulghum and Allen Hamilton

As our children grow up, we continue to search for Biblical guidance in raising them.  We started off with Growing Kids God’s Way.  This was a great class to gather tools that somehow parents were suppose to just posses (we didn’t).  Well, we have hit a new stage of life called Middle Childhood and close behind are Pre-Teen and Teen stages (we don’t have these skills either).

What it means to be Anglican:  An inquirer’s Class

Clergy, staff, vestry

What it means to be  Anglican: An Inquirer’s Class  will be offered in the winter for eight (8) Sundays.  It will begin January 13 and end on Sunday, March 9. This class is for anyone who wants to have a brief overview of church history, the English Reformation, the Episcopal Church, the Book of Common Prayer and much more.  The class is specifically to prepare those who wish to be confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church.  The Bishop plans to baptize, confirm, receive, and renew communicants at the Easter Vigil on March 22, 2008.
