St. Martin’s Children’s Ministries

Vacation Bible School in 2007 is the third week in June.

Please mark your calendars.

Children’s Worship during the 9 a.m. Sunday service.

Children’s Chapel: A once a month commitment

We are looking for adults and young people who would like to help with Children’s Chapel and Sacred Spaces during the 9:00 a.m. service. We need storytellers, singers and those good at plain old “crowd control.” Please contact Toni Cobb, 770-698-9791, or Melinda Mischik, 404-228- 0754, Volunteers help about once a month.

The Church Nursery: A few good people are needed

St. Martin’s is in need of a few good people to work in our church nursery on Sunday mornings and occasionally during the week. The pay is decent, and the rewards much greater than that. If you are interested, please contact Melinda Mischik at 404.228.0754, or her email, or Nursery Supervisor Charlotte Smith, 404.816.8576.

Children are a major focus at St. Martin’s. We offer worship services, Sunday school and special events designed to educate and incorporate our children into our faith community.

Nursery

Children are welcome in the nursery through their fourth birthday. We have an infant, younger toddler and older toddler rooms. A nursery is provided beginning at 8:30 on Sunday mornings (9:30 during the summer) and lasting through the 11:00 service. Our Nursery Director is Charlotte Smith, and she can be reached at home 404-459-9464 or cell 404-273-8799.

You can help!

There are lots of different ways to assist with our many children’s programs at St. Martin’s. You may want to be closely involved with your child’s class or simply provide occasional support to one of our programs. We strive to assist everyone in discovering how best to use their own special gifts within the confines of busy schedules. Please call Melinda Mischik at 404-228-0754 and discuss your desire to make a difference in the lives of our children.

Children’s Worship:
St. Mark’s Chapel

Children 3 - 7

Children ages three through seven are invited to attend their own worship service with or without their parents during the 9:00 service on Sunday mornings (10 in the summer). They are to exit down the left side of the church during the processional where a “shepherd” will lead them to St. Mark’s Chapel and will rejoin their families during the Peace (except during Baptismal services when they return during the Baptismal hymn.) To volunteer to assist with children’s chapel, please contact Toni Cobb at  770-698-9791, toni.cobb@ndchealth.com, or Melinda Mischik.

Sacred Spaces

Rising 2nd grade – 5th grade

Sacred Spaces in an opportunity for older children to experience the Gospel and attempt to make sense of it within a framework of their contemporary world. They are to exit the back of the church during the processional and proceed to the Parlor where they will be led in a special service by an adult volunteer. Leaders of Sacred Spaces include Larry Domenico, Tim Kelly, Marybeth Haas and Melinda Mischik.  The children will rejoin their families during the Peace (except during Baptismal services when they return during the Baptismal hymn.)

Children are very welcome at St. Martin in the Fields Church. This is a good thing because we have lots of them. It is recognized that to have a healthy, growing congregation a church has to have lots of children. St. Martin’s understands this and strives to make it very attractive to young families to join us in worship. Our 9:00 a.m. service on Sunday morning is considered our “family” service. It is normal to see a hundred or more children in attendance.

Children’s Sunday School classes meet at 10:10 a.m.
