Children
are very welcome to worship at St. Martin’s! To make their time as
meaningful as possible, we commend to you the following:
Children’s coloring
packets, including a special story based on the Gospel, are available in the
rear of the church. The ushers know.
St. Mark’s Children’s
Chapel is located downstairs in Pierce Hall. Children ages 3-7 exit down the
left side of the church at the beginning of the 10 a.m. service and return
during the Peace. During their own chapel children sing, pray and hear the
Gospel.
“Sacred Spaces”
is a program for rising 2nd through 5th graders who wish to
participate. It is voluntary, and we recognize that some may prefer to stay
with their families. Children going to Sacred Places exit with their adult
leaders from the rear of the church while the younger children exit the front.
These older children are going to a church service in the Parlor designed
specifically to enhance their experience and increase their understanding of
the Gospel message. Like the younger ones, they return to the church at the
Peace to be with their families for the Eucharist.
Pew Space Savers
are available in the narthex so that your child’s space may be easily reserved
during their chapel time. You may also wish to use these if you choose to
accompany your child to chapel.
Nursery care is
available for children under four years of age.
September through the Sunday before Memorial
Day weekend in May, Sunday School is held after the 9
o’clock service and begins with a 3 to 4-year-old class and continues through
high school.
A bulletin board
for Children’s Education is located around the corner from the nursery in
Nicholson Hall and contains information on children’s activities.
Our children learn so much during their
special service. We are truly blessed to have so many generous volunteers. If
you desire more information about our service please call Melinda
Mischik 404-228-0754. If you would like to participate please contact our
Chapel Coordinator Toni Cobb at 770-698-9791.
