Mission Statement
To follow Christ and lead others to him.
Mission Prayer
"Everliving God, whose will it is that all should come to you through your Son Jesus Christ: Inspire our witness to him, that all may know the power of his forgiveness and the hope of his resurrection; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen."
He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.
- Micah 6: 8
Hear what our Lord Jesus Christ saith: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets. (Book of Common Prayer)
Do justice, love kindness, care for our neighbors. These are what Christians are called to do every day. Giving to others through outreach is at the core of St. Martin’s mission and ministry. Our Patron Saint shared his cloak and we are asked to share ours as well. We invite you to joyfully participate in the giving opportunities St. Martin’s provides.
Our biggest fund raising opportunity is our annual November Celebration. We hope you will come join in the fun and give generously to the fund.
St. Martin’s has a close relationship with each of our diocesan ministries: Holy Comforter Parish and Emmaus House. Holy Comforter serves people with special needs, and Emmaus House serves a broad range of people and ages in the community surrounding Turner Field. The Outreach Committee also sponsors certain projects from year to year such a Habitat project.
Each Tuesday morning Anne Shepherd and a group of volunteers with our Emergency Assistance Program assist people in our area who have problems paying utilities or rent, or need food, clothing or transportation.
Wherever you look you will find opportunities to offer assistance to our neighbors in need. SM-all Group Ministry, Guilds, Men’s Group, Stephen Ministry, and others endeavor to carry out our mission to ‘share the cloak’. Come join the giving and receive God’s blessings of caring for others.
