Mission Statement
To follow Christ and lead others to him.
Mission Prayer
"Everliving God, whose will it is that all should come to you through your Son Jesus Christ: Inspire our witness to him, that all may know the power of his forgiveness and the hope of his resurrection; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen."
Pairs & Spares
Pairs & Spares is the longest continuing social group at St. Martin’s. It began in the late 50s as a way for all adult-age members of this church, married, single, divorced, widowed – to get together once a month on a strictly social basis. In fact, an early name for the group was the Do Nothing Club. They voted to meet on the first Saturday evening of the month to allow for those who worked during the week or had child/school activities to attend during the weeknights to be able to be there. A few of those first members are still active in the group today.
We meet the first Saturday evening of each month, though we do not gather in July or November. Our annual Christmas Banquet is the highlight of our year.
Meetings are a social hour followed by a pot luck supper and a program. Programs are varied such as musicians, comics, slide shows, presentations on many subjects, big band sounds, and professional storytellers.
We welcome all adults at St. Martin’s. Please come and bring a friend or neighbor with you and get to know us.
For further information, please phone 770-234-9176 or 770-457-4986, or 404-636-7353.
