Mission Statement
To follow Christ and lead others to him.
Mission Prayer
"Everliving God, whose will it is that all should come to you through your Son Jesus Christ: Inspire our witness to him, that all may know the power of his forgiveness and the hope of his resurrection; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen."
“You put your right foot in. You take your right foot out. You put your right foot in and you shake it all about.”
That is the way it starts – just a little at a time. Gradually we begin to realize that this parish, St. Martin in the Fields feels a lot like home. People here can feel a lot like family. We have friends that we miss while they are away. Maybe we are not anxious for them, but when we do see them after an absence we can feel our face lighting up in a little smile. We have a grin inside if not on our face. We hold something in common with them – something close and dear.
It’s our faith reflected. It’s our parish life. No matter what section of the Christian path we tread, our parish has a place and an activity put together with our specific needs in mind. We reach out to others in our community, our state, and the world at large, yet it is this place, and the relationships born here that make all our work possible. Look around today, or any day that you are here and see St. Martin’s for what it is. It is a place of worship, certainly. But beyond that it’s your parish, your home, your nest under Christ’s wing.
