O God, who has made all the earth and every creature that dwells therein: Help us, we pray you, to treat with compassion the living creatures entrusted to our care, that they may not suffer from our neglect nor become the victims of any cruelty; and grant that in caring for them we may find a deeper understanding of your love for all creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
UPDATE: The St. Francis Pet Ministry is grateful to everyone who responded to our recent plea to help the survivors of the fire at Flashpoint Kennels, in Rome, GA. Georgia Jack Russell Rescue stepped up to help the dogs, and your donations of food and money are helping this organization provide badly needed medical attention and care. Most of dogs have been moved to other shelters or have been adopted, and JRT Rescue will not rest until all the remaining dogs receive medical care and a good home. JRT Rescue and the St. Francis Pet Ministry thank everyone for their generosity.
On January 3, a tragic fire in Rome GA took the lives of 30 dogs at Flashpoint Kennel. 23 Jack Russell Terriers survived the fire, and Georgia Jack Russell Adoption is helping place these dogs in shelters and foster homes. You can read more about their efforts to help these dogs at their website: http://www.jackrusselladoptions.com/archives/2218.
