O God, who has made all the earth and every creature that dwells therein: Help us, we pray you, to treat with compassion the living creatures entrusted to our care, that they may not suffer from our neglect nor become the victims of any cruelty; and grant that in caring for them we may find a deeper understanding of your love for all creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Pet Ministry Events and News
Cats! Cats! Cats!
Cat lovers will be excited to know that this fall, the St. Francis pet ministry will host a talk with Brett Witter, co-author of the New York Times best seller, Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World. This much loved story about a kitten found in a library return box in Spencer, Iowa has been translated into over 30 languages. Mr. Witter and his family are moving to Atlanta and will enjoy getting to know the St. Martin’s family. In the meantime, cat (and dog) lovers are encouraged to read his latest book, called Until Tuesday. This book is about a trained assistance dog that helped a wounded veteran turn his life around. A truly wonderful book that's all about the power of animals to heal and can be found at: http://www.amazon.com/Until-Tuesday-Wounded-Warrior-Retriever/dp/B005IZV2JA/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top. Stay tuned for more details.
