Turkey Frying Fundraiser

The Turkeys are Coming! The Turkeys are Coming!

Our Deep Fried Turkey event returns! For thirteen years, The Knights of St Martin’s have sponsored the annual Deep Fry Turkeys for the Thanksgiving holidays. It’s an ongoing tradition that continues to demonstrate our mission of “sharing the cloak” with others, both inside and outside the parish.

These tasty, fully-cooked turkeys are a great addition to your Thanksgiving table and the proceeds are a wonderful blessing for the many people this program helps throughout the holiday season. For those of you who bought one of these delicious birds in the past or haven’t yet enjoyed one, there is no time like the present! There will be a limited amount available so sign up early (and often!).

The cost for a deep fried turkey is STILL $35 and the proceeds will go to St Martin’s Outreach and Inreach programs. You can also donate one to share with the Interfaith Outreach Home for their Thanksgiving meal.

Whether you buy one for your meal or are feeling generous this year, you can also contribute to the Emmaus House Thanksgiving basket program. Every Thanksgiving, Emmaus House provides a turkey, side items and greens for 250 families. Even if you don’t order a turkey, you can donate to their cause to help fund these Thanksgiving baskets!

A sign up table will be available to take your order on Sunday mornings starting on November 4 through November 18 or until all the turkeys are sold. They will be available for pick up every hour on the hour on Wednesday, November 21st starting at 9am.

You can also order a turkey at the St Martin’s website (http://www.stmartins.org)

If you want to be part of this great event, we are still in need of turkey fryers and able bodies to assist on Wednesday, November 21st! If you have a deep fryer or propane tank that you would be willing to donate for the day and/or would be willing to help out, please contact Tim Peek at (404) 252-2372 or email him at timhelnat@bellsouth.net.
