Blessing of the Backpacks, Sunday, August 4, at 10:30 am service

Beginning Sunday, July 28- Sunday, August 4, St. Martin’s will be collecting donated school supplies for children at Emmaus House. Emmaus House, a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta, was founded in 1967 by an Episcopal Priest Fr. Austin Ford along with two nuns and a seminary student. Today, Emmaus House has evolved over the past 50 + years into a valuable resource for its neighbors in Peoplestown. The week of Sunday July 28- August 4, there will be baskets outside the Parish office where items can be dropped off.  On Sunday, August 4, at the 10:30 am service, we invite students and teachers to bring their backpacks filled with all your new school supplies to church. You and your backpacks will be blessed for a great start to the new school year! Following the service, meet in Gable Hall for an Ice Cream Social.
